Welcome to Asmus Farm Supply’s Estherville location. We are located on the east edge of Estherville about 1/8 mile south of Hwy 9.
Our Estherville location opened in 2005 and is ready to be the leader in NW Iowa for meeting your seed and crop protection needs.
Asmus Farm Supply’s Estherville location is managed by Brent Baddeley. Brent has had over 30 years experience in seed, fertilizer and crop protection in Northwest Iowa. As a Certified Crop Adviser, you can count on him to help maximize your crop protection dollars! Our Estherville facilities are setup for fast and efficient loading of chemicals and seed. This location also offers treated water to it’s customers for glyphosate applications. We are setup to provide packaged or bulk products to match your farm’s needs. Estherville has a large supply of mini-bulk tanks available to our customers to meet the growing needs of today’s operations.
In 2007, AFS added a Crow’s and Nutech Seed dealership to our Estherville location. To help establish and promote these brands we have added Trevor Enerson to the AFS staff to spearhead seed sales for the Estherville and surrounding area. Trevor and Brent are ready to be your seed provider with great offerings from two companies that are proven leaders in the market. Our Estherville location also houses two other independent businesses that offer services that add value for our customers in the Estherville area.
SYS Ag is a soil sampling and crop scouting company that is owned by Scott Jensen. Scott is setup to grid soil sample and provide prescription GPS maps for fertilizer spreading as well as scout acres throughout the growing season.
North Iowa Nutrients is a chicken litter sales and application company. The company is owned and operated by Randy Main and Brent Baddeley.
Brent has been the location Manager at the Estherville location since 2004. That was the year the plant opened in Estherville. He has been in Agronomy Sales since moving to this area in 1977. Also out of this location he is responsible for the sales of Organic Fertilizer out of Daybreak Foods.
Brent, and Cheryl reside in Gruver, Iowa. They have three children, and six grandchildren. Brent is a certified firefighter. He has been a member of the local fire Department for over 25 years. Brent, and Cheryl spend most there time following their kids to sporting events or dance events. They enjoy classic cars, and car shows. When time allows in summer they pull their camper over to the lakes for some fun, and relaxation. He also enjoys riding his Harley in the summer. Their favorite pastime is going on Snowmobile trips in the winter.
Wes Baddeley – Warehouse Manager
Wes lives in Gruver, Iowa with his wife Jessica and their son Dustin. He attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg Iowa. He has been the warehouse manager at AFS in Estherville since April of 2010. He is also co-owner of 5B Enterprises with his dad. That company sells, and applies organic fertilizer. He is the Assistant Fire Chief for the local volunteer fire department. In his spare time he enjoys playing with his son, hunting, riding his Harley, and snowmobiling when the weather allows him to ride.
Trevor started with AFS as the Seed Sales Agronomist in Estherville. Trevor has a Bachelor degree in Agricultural Business as well as Economics. Prior to working at AFS he was a crop consultant in southwest Iowa for a little over a year. Trevor was raised on a family farm near Estherville. He continues to help out there as time allows. He enjoys the customer interaction that comes with this career, and looks forward to helping growers maximize profits through making sound seed decisions. In his free time Trevor enjoys golfing, snowmobiling, and riding motorcycles.
Anna graduated from Iowa State University in December of 2012. She received a degree in Public Service and Administration in Agriculture, with Animal Science and International Ag minors. While at Iowa State, Anna participated in a research project at the United Nation’s Food and Agricultural Organization in Rome, Italy and interned for Monsanto’s Government Affairs team in Washington, D.C. Anna grew up on a grain and livestock farm in Amboy, MN and is currently living in Buffalo Center, IA with her husband at his family’s grain and livestock farm. In her free time, she enjoys watching the Minnesota Twins and Iowa State Football. Her hobbies include playing the violin, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.
Joan grew up on a family farm 3 miles north of Estherville. Her parents had 4 daughters, and they all took an active part in farming, and caring for the animals. That love for agriculture has always been a part of Joan’s life. Previous to being employed by Asmus Farm Supply/ Mid county Ag, Joan was employed for 35 years by Superior Coop/ Great Lakes Coop/ Green Plains grain.
Joan’s husband Mitch is the Superintendent of the Electrical Department for the city of Estherville. Together they have 4 children, and 2 grandchildren. In Joan’s spare time she enjoys quilting, flower gardening, golfing, and traveling.
Tom was born in Emmet County. He lives on an acreage by Armstrong. He has been actively involved in farming, and agriculture for 40 years. His wife, Becky, is employed by the North Union School at Armstrong. They have 4 adult children, and 1 grandson. He started with AFS in January 2012. Tom help’s with warehouse duties. Tom operate’s the row-crop sprayer. He enjoys watching Nascar, the 49ers, and snowmobiling.
Mike started working part time for Asmus Farm Supply, Inc. in March of 2013. He then went full time on October 1, 2013. He works in the warehouse in Estherville. He has 20 years in Sales and 19 years in Road Maintenance and Construction. He enjoys camping and fishing in his spare time.
